Jayan wins the Eurostar grand prize for Mobility Week 🚆✨
Jayan, from Hounslow, has scooped our grand prize for European Mobility Week. He took home a £500 Eurostar travel voucher and £400 worth of spending money for his dedication to getting active during this campaign.
“When I first saw the email early in the morning I was really delighted. It was such a sweet surprise!
Jayan has been using the BetterPoints app for nearly six years. This is what he said about how the app has become an important motivator in his routine.
I first came across it back during COVID when I was working from home and feeling sluggish and had put on weight. I saw a flyer about BetterPoints at Hounslow Civic Centre and thought it looked good and over time it really has helped me to get moving.
The activity dial on the app really encourages me. At first I struggled to complete a week’s dial, but now I can finish it in just a couple of days. It makes me feel proud of how far I’ve come.

I’d never swum in my whole life, but last year I joined adult swimming lessons at Lampton Leisure, and now I’ve learned the basics. I’ve also tried cycling lessons in the local park. The app gives me that extra push to keep trying new things.
The changes have supported his journey to a healthier weight too:
I can definitely say the app has helped me. I’ve been able to bring my weight down and I’m working hard to stay consistent. It’s been really motivating.

According to the NHS, adults should aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity (such as brisk walking or cycling) or 75 minutes of vigorous activity (such as running) each week, along with muscle-strengthening exercises on two or more days.
