Faheem’s Story – Building Confidence, Health and Community Through the BetterPoints Hounslow Challenge
Faheem, who lives in Cranford, has experienced a powerful transformation since joining the challenge. For her, the biggest hurdle wasn’t just about getting active, it was about finding the confidence to step outside.
“Because of my mental health challenges, I hardly went out and didn’t do many activities. It was very difficult to motivate myself to be active.”
That started to change when she heard about the BetterPoints challenge.
The biggest challenge for me was stepping out of the house. But the app helped me take small and regular steps. It gave me the encouragement I needed to improve my health. There are many good features in the app, but the most important one for me is BetterPoints and ‘refer a friend’. The rewards keep me going, and the social side has helped me build new connections.
Since joining, Faheem has gradually built up a routine of activities she enjoys.
Now I go out for cycling, walking, and even swimming. Taking those first small steps has made such a difference. Not only has it supported my mental wellbeing, but it’s also helped me build my social network.
Being more active has helped my overall health. Most importantly, it has supported my mental wellbeing as well as my physical fitness. I feel stronger, healthier, and more connected to others.”
